• Accessing the portal

  1. Use your unique login and password sent in your welcome email to access the web browser version of the epic challenge portal. Participants are able to play via their safari web browser on a desktop or download the Epic app onto their phone (see steps below)

• Downloading the Epic app onto your phone

  iPhone/iPad

  1. Go to https://epicchallenge.co/log-in in Safari on your iOS device
  2. Tap the “Share” button (the little box with an arrow, usually in the middle of the bottom toolbar), and choose “Add to Home Screen”
  3. Click the “Add” button
  4. You can now use the Epic app from the Home Screen of your device. You’ll be able to opt in to push notifications when you’re in the app, and be notified each morning that your daily challenge is live!

  Android

  1. Go to https://epicchallenge.co/log-in in Chrome on your Android device
  2. Find the three dots menu, and choose “Install” or “Install app”
  3. You can now use the Epic app from the Home Screen of your device. You’ll be able to opt in to push notifications when you’re in the app, and be notified each morning that your daily challenge is live!

• How will you be learning?

  1. Daily bite-sized challenges delivered through the web based app every morning at 6am AEDT

• Playing solo, but want to be a part of a team during your active Challenge month?

  1. Are you playing solo, but feel you would prefer to be on a team and don’t personally know any other participants? Send us an email at hello@emergent.global and we’ll randomly match you up with other players.

• Know others playing and want to create your own team?

  1. If you would like to create a team, on your profile screen you can Create a new team and share your team name and invite code with others.
  2. Teams will have a separate leader board from solo participants, and you’ll also be able to see a feed of your team only.
  3. Teams are clustered in groups of no more than five. If you’d like to connect + compete with select people outside your team, you’ll be able to follow participants of your choosing, allowing you to see a leaderboard/feed of those you are following.
  4. Teams are awarded additional points for completing challenges together and supporting each other along the way

• Know others playing who have created a team that you would like to join?

  1. No problem! To Join a team, your friend who has created the team will need to share the team name and invite code with you, then from your profile, you can select your friend’s team from the team list and enter the invite code they have shared with you.
  2. Teams will have a separate leader board from solo participants, and you’ll also be able to see a feed of your team only.

• How do the points work?

  1. There is an overall leader board where you will automatically be able to see where you sit
  2. There is also a leaderboard showing only those that you are following, and where you sit within the group
  3. Every challenge is worth points upon completion
  4. Points will be rewarded for not missing any challenge days – stay on track for 3, 10, and 28 days and get extra points!
  5. Bonus points will be awarded for trying out the power up challenges along the way
  6. Points can be gained through commenting and applauding in support of the community, in the feed, however the amount of points you’ll receive for commenting will be capped each day
  7. There will be a daily point cap for commenting (50pts) and applauding (10pts).
  8. Badges will be unlocked as various clusters of challenges are completed; those that relate to goals, empathy, purpose etc. You will see a little symbol on some challenges noting that the challenge contributes to a particular badge.
  9. In the case of a tie, we will determine the winner by calculating total number of engagements in the app (how many comments and applauds did you deliver beyond the points caps)

• What do the badges mean?

  • Badges are set up to reward people who are consistently completing challenges, and embracing epic learning behaviour. Definitions are as follows:
  • Empathy Badge – This badge is awarded for completing all challenges attributed to empathy
  • Go For Goals Badge – This badge is for completing goal orientated challenges
  • Innovation Badge – This badge is awarded for completing the innovation-based challenges
  • Mindfulness Badge – This badge is awarded for completing the challenges that require a high level of mindfulness
  • Peak Behaviour Badge – This badge is awarded for completing challenges that play to peak behaviour
  • Purposeful Badge – This badge is awarded for completing all challenges drawing strongly on purpose
  • Power Up Badge – This badge is awarded every time a Power Up challenge is completed
  • 3 Day Streak Badge – This badge is awarded for completing the daily challenges for 3 days consistently
  • 10 Day Streak Badge – This badge is awarded for completing the daily challenges for 10 days consistently
  • 28 Day Streak – This badge is awarded for completing the daily challenges for 28 days consistently

• Can I follow other participants?

  Absolutely! We have been working hard behind the scenes to bring this functionality to life. You’ll be able to follow other players, and have a separate feed to show only those you choose. You will also have a leaderboard of these people, showing where you sit in the group!

• Can I go back and complete missed challenges?

  Yes absolutely, until the challenge closes at the end of the month. Once the Challenge closes, you’ll be able to see your submissions, but the Challenge videos will no longer be available.

• What are the rules around the questionnaires?

  The post-challenge questionnaires issued at the end of the challenge is your key to officially finish the challenge. The information will be de-identified and aggregated when used publicly. Privately, the information will be used by the team at Emergent in a confidential manner to improve the challenge framework moving forward. For further information please see our privacy policy.

• How will my data be used?

• Can I run a challenge with my company or community?

  Yes! While we are running a series of open public challenges through the year, we also customise challenges for sectors, companies, and community groups. Reach out with questions on hello@emergent.global

• Is there a size limit for my uploads?

  add

  If you’re submitting an image to support your challenge submission, there is a file size limit of 48MB. Should you be uploading a video, the limit is 50MB.
